About the Therapists

Cheri Cassara, MA, LMfT-90709

I became an MFT after my own therapeutic journey. I truly know what it is like to be sitting on the fence trying to decide what to do...tired of the pain from past hurts...or broken relationships...

As a result, I now believe that we all possess the capacity for peace, fulfillment, and purpose in our lives from a holistic client-centered approach that is a soft, safe place of warmth, non-judgment and complete acceptance. I have a sincere heartfelt desire to offer this very personal growth opportunity to you.

My deepest intention as an MFT is to support the healing and empowerment of people who feel unworthy, damaged or disconnected from their core identity as a result of past or present traumatic events. Painful experiences can leave you feeling anxious, depressed or angry, and you may feel that you don't know where to go in life. My integrated approach honors your mind, body, spirit, and emotions. I offer you sanctuary from the turmoil, and a safe space in which you can have a voice, and feel heard with unconditional acceptance.

I have loved all things equine for as long as I can remember, and spent time working on a ranch in college. This gave me the opportunity to interact with many different horses, and it was here that I fell in love with their intuitive nature and kind hearts. My dream of bringing the horse into the healing process has been realized in my work as an Equine Facilitated Psychotherapist. My therapeutic philosophy involves inviting the horse as a willing participant into the session. I firmly believe in the horses' ability to facilitate change and healing. I have worked with adults, children and families struggling with a variety of issues, and have been witness many times to the power of equine therapy.
